The Romanian Government has recently amended the Methodological Norms for the application of the Emergency Ordinance No. 28/1999, which mandates the use of “electronic fiscal marking machines” or electronic fiscal devices. The updated norms now include provisions for fiscal electronic cash registers integrated in unattended equipment such as commercial vending machines that operate on the basis of card payments, as well as banknote or coin acceptors. These vending machines must meet certain technical requirements when submitted for authorization to the Commission.
