ANAF issues a reminder to taxpayers in Romania about the importance of utilizing virtual private space for communication purposes.

The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has recently introduced modifications to the process of submitting requests to tax authorities. Starting from the latter part of the first quarter of 2023, legal entities, associations, and other entities without legal personality, along with individuals engaged in liberal professions or independent economic activities, are required to utilize the Contact Form within the Virtual Private Space service for submitting their requests to ANAF.

Individuals are advised to use the Contact Form within the public space for communication, but only if they provide a valid CNP/NIF (tax identification code) in the corresponding field. If any other information is entered, the taxpayer or payer will be directed to use the Contact Form within the Virtual Private Space service.

It is strictly prohibited for taxpayers to employ other email addresses of the tax administration, and they must exclusively use the designated Contact Form. Requests submitted through alternative electronic channels will not be considered, potentially leading to delays in issue resolution.

For applications, registrations, or other documents that are not yet digitized or available in electronic format, individuals must use the Contact Form within their SPV (Virtual Private Space) account. The category “Specialized assistance and guidance in the field of taxation” should be selected. Digitized forms can be found on the ANAF website and must be submitted according to the instructions provided on the portal, which may involve utilizing the e-government portal, SPV, or accessing the designated button on the ANAF website’s main page.

In the event of any technical difficulties encountered during the submission process, individuals can report them using the “Contact Form” by selecting the category “Technical assistance information services.” Complying with these relatively new requirements is crucial to prevent any delays or complications in the resolution of tax-related matters.

This announcement serves as a reminder to taxpayers in Romania to utilize the Virtual Private Space (SPV) service as the preferred and recommended method of communication with ANAF. Adhering to these guidelines ensures that requests are appropriately processed and resolved promptly, contributing to a streamlined tax-related process.
