The Ministry of Finance intends to release a preliminary version of a mandatory discussion draft for B2B e-invoicing publication.

Germany is proactively getting ready for the anticipated B2B e-invoicing requirement, aligning with the ViDA (VAT in the Digital Age) proposal.

The BMF (Federal Ministry of Finance) of Germany is planning to release a “discussion draft” in the near future, which focuses on the introduction of mandatory e-invoicing within the B2B sector. This draft serves as a means for German policymakers to gather information and align with the ViDA proposal. Currently, the implementation of a potential e-invoicing requirement for business transactions is in its early stages. Germany had previously requested a derogation from the European Commission for mandatory B2B e-invoicing, and the specifics of the electronic invoicing system are still uncertain.
